Aqeel Aadam Sound is an independent plug-in developer creating innovative audio and MIDI tools for producers, composers, and sound designers working across macOS, Windows, and iOS. All products are the brainchild of Aqeel Aadam.
-
Weeping Wall and Ridgewalk are audio effects plug-ins, designed to be used with any instrument or sound source. Load them into your DAW just like other audio effects, such as reverbs, delays, filters, and so on.
-
Waymaker is a MIDI effects plug-in. Unlike audio effects, MIDI plug-ins don’t generate or process audio—instead, they generate or modify MIDI data. This MIDI data can then be routed to a virtual instrument to produce sound.
-
MIDI effects plug-ins are relatively uncommon, so using them can sometimes be confusing. Loading Waymaker in several major DAWs (Ableton Live, Logic Pro, Bitwig Studio, and AUM) is demonstrated in the Waymaker video manual.
Instructions for using Waymaker in other DAWs are below:
Reaper
- Create an instrument track and load Waymaker onto it.
- Create a second instrument track and load a software instrument.
- In the routing settings of the instrument track, set Waymaker as the MIDI input source.
Cubase
- Create a new instrument track and load Waymaker onto it.
- Load a software instrument on a separate track.
- In the Inspector panel, locate the MIDI Input field. Select Waymaker’s MIDI output.
- Arm the instrument track by clicking the Record Enable button. Enable input monitoring by clicking the Monitor (speaker icon) button.
FL Studio
- Load Waymaker onto one track.
- Load a software instrument onto another track.
- In the instrument’s editor, go to Settings, then the second tab, and assign input from a port number. Use the same port number that Waymaker is sending to.
Studio One
- Create an instrument track and load Waymaker onto it.
- Create another track and load a software instrument.
- On the instrument track, set the MIDI input to Waymaker.
- Enable monitoring or activate the record button to stream or record MIDI from Waymaker.
-
Ableton Live only supports MIDI effect plug-ins in VST3 format. If you're on macOS, this means the AU (Component) version of Waymaker will not appear. This is a limitation of the DAW itself.
-
Ableton Live routes all virtual MIDI internally on channel 1, making Waymaker’s “Channels” utility functionally useless in this environment. I am currently developing a simple Max for Live tool to restore multi-channel functionality in Ableton.

Yes! Each Aqeel Aadam Sound plug-in is also available for iOS in AUv3 format as a separate purchase:

Yes, the trial version of each product can be found from a separate listing.
Weeping Wall and Ridgewalk include indefinite free trials, with a periodic audio dropout every 20 seconds.
Waymaker offers a one-week fully functional trial. After that, a license will be required to continue using it.
-
There are two ways to stay updated:
- Each plug-in checks for updates at launch. If a newer version is available, you’ll be prompted to download it directly.
- You’ll also receive an update email from Payhip with a direct download link.
To install the update:
- macOS: Run the new installer to overwrite the old version. Restart your DAW afterward.
- Windows: Replace the existing .vst3 file with the new one in C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3. Restart your DAW to apply the update.
You can check your plug-in’s version number in the top-right settings menu to confirm the update was successful.

Not yet. Aqeel Aadam Sound plug-ins are not currently available in AAX format, but I’m working on native Pro Tools versions. In the meantime, you can use the free Plugin Buddy wrapper to load non-native audio and MIDI effect plug-ins in Pro Tools.

If you’ve lost your license or can’t access it, just reach out and I’ll help resolve it as quickly as possible.
-
Each license allows activation on up to two computers. If you try to authorize a third, you’ll be given the option to remove one of the existing authorizations—ideal for migrating to a new computer or recovering from hardware issues.
-
Currently, there is no dedicated Windows installer due to the high cost of signing installer apps. I’m working toward making a proper installer available soon.
In the meantime, install manually by copying the provided .vst3 file to: C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3 (if the folder doesn't exist, it's safe to create it). Then, restart your DAW to complete the installation.
-
If authorization fails, it may be due to software that interferes with internet access—VPNs are the most common culprit. Temporarily disabling the VPN should allow authorization to complete. Afterward, no internet connection is required.
-
The Aqeel Aadam Sound licensing server is currently blocked in China. I'm actively working on a solution. In the meantime, using a VPN (e.g., to the U.S. or Singapore) will allow successful authorization. As with all setups, no internet is needed after authorization.

All previous Gumroad purchases of Weeping Wall and Ridgewalk have been migrated to the new site. An account on the new site is not fully necessary, since you'll still be in the loop for plug-in updates either way, but you may find creating an account convenient.
To set up an account and add your purchase to it:
- Go to aqeelaadamsound.com/b-account to create or log in to your Payhip account.
- Locate your original Payhip order email (subject: [Aqeel Aadam Sound] Thank you for your purchase!)
- Click Download Now in that email.
- On the download page, scroll to the bottom and select the option to add the order to your Payhip account.
