About Aqeel Aadam Sound

Aqeel Aadam Sound is an independent plug-in developer creating innovative audio and MIDI tools for producers, composers, and sound designers working across macOS, Windows, and iOS.

Every product is built around a central idea: inspiration. Inspiration is one of the few things in life that is entirely human—yet often elusive. Aqeel Aadam Sound plug-ins are designed to act as creative collaborators, helping you spark ideas and find joy in the music-making process. Each one features unique, dynamic visuals inspired by nature, bringing a touch of the outside world into your DAW.

I don’t believe in reinventing the wheel or bloating software. My plug-ins are distilled down to the essentials—focused tools designed to help you make music and have fun doing it. Each product begins with a clear creative intent, then hands the reins over to you to explore where it leads. I’m also committed to affordability and accessibility, and believe in democratizing music and art wherever possible.

About me 👋🏽

I’m Aqeel, a Philadelphia-born and based musician and software engineer. I was gifted my first guitar by my grandfather—an OG jazz musician on the local scene. Since then, music has been my passion and craft. I went on to learn every instrument I could get my hands on, and eventually studied computer science, music technology, recording techniques, and synthesizers in college.

After building a grassroots online following from my first apartment, I self-released an EP ‘Daydreams.’ Shortly thereafter, I went on to release two albums (‘Hollow Moon’ and ‘Swim, Simian’) on vinyl and cassette with record label Mystery Circles. I have collaborated with a number of fellow electronic musicians and contributed to compilations by Inner Ocean Records and Mystery Circles, as well as performing within our beloved little modular community.

Since then, I decided to start building plug-ins and founded Aqeel Aadam Sound. As I grow and develop on my own artistic journey, I believe in disseminating what I've learned to other composers and musicians as well, and helping to foster the health of the art world as a whole.
